What does it cost to have an eye test at West Specs?
Here at West Specs, we bulk bill for everything where we can.
Fees below include retinal photography and OCT scans.
Regular eye examination
Initial examination – Bulk Billed
Existing examination concession (Pension, Health Care Card, Student, etc) – Bulk Billed
Follow up visit – Bulk Billed
Contact lens examination
Initial examination – Existing contact lens wearer no change to lens type – $50 (if bulk billing to Medicare is not possible)
Initial examination – Existing contact lens wearer when lens type needs to be changed – $125
Initial examination- For new contact lens wearer, includes coaching on insertion and removal and lens care – $125
Follow up- $50 (if bulk billing to Medicare is not possible)
What should I bring to my first appointment?
- Your current glasses and/or contact lenses
- If you want your contact lenses to be checked please come wearing them.
- If you want a new prescription for glasses but also wear contact lenses please wear your glasses (at least for a few hours beforehand) but bring your contact lenses so we can check them too
- Your Medicare card any private health insurance card
